# Convert an absolute path to a file URL (/guides/util/path-to-file-url)

Use `Bun.pathToFileURL()` to convert an absolute path to a `file://` URL.

```ts
Bun.pathToFileURL("/path/to/file.txt").href;
// => "file:///path/to/file.txt"
